TIMEPIECE

Wow! It’s been awhile since I’ve written anything here.  My life has gotten so busy as of late that I just haven’t had the time to write anything. You would think that since it’s being so long that I would have a lot to write about. Like the lottery experiment. Heck, except for the first ticket (which it didn’t even win anything) I haven’t bought any.

So why don’t I have anytime?  Glad you ask!  After the many years as an embedded software engineer, I excepted the position as manager of our new software test and QA department.

In the beginning one software test engineer was assigned to me.  A month later I was allowed to hired two more.  Then a month after that the general manager wanted to test the waters in India, so now I have two more test engineers in India.

And that’s where my time went – India.  I haven’t been traveling to India.  In fact I haven’t been there yet.  I telecommute.  Since there is a 12 and a half hour time difference, I’ve been working later into the evening.   So during the day I work with my engineers in the U.S. and at night I work with the engineers in India.  I’m getting tired but I hope in the long run it’s worth it.

So as you can see, I don’t have a lot of time but I do have something to write about.  Will anybody read any of this?  Probably not.  I’ll just get more spam comments.

Resolutions

There is something hopeful about starting a new year with a new attitude – a new beginning for us, on the beginning of a new year. Some popular resolutions involve exercise, eating habits, smoking, drinking or work.  Regrettably, the promises usually do not last long. According to an article in London’s The Guardian a few [more...]

Electric Vehicles I Wouldn't Mind Having

Let’s face it, electric vehicles of the past have been… shall we say, boring.  We don’t want to drive things that look like a golf cart, a ball or a bar of soap.  Electric vehicles have been mostly golf cart like with radios, but finally some designers are starting to understand what we want or [more...]

Lego man

An 8-foot-tall, 100-pound fiberglass Lego Man has arrived in the US.  Lego Man aka “Ego Leonard” apparently washed up on shore at the Siesta Key Beach in Florida, just before dawn on Tuesday.  Even though Legoland recently opened up in Florida, they take no responsibility for the stunt. Ego Leonard, who has his own website, has shown [more...]
